Van Der Valk Hotel Gilze-Tilburg

We were upgraded to superior queen room with view on check in.

wonderful, comfortable location in tilburg, adjacent to the park as well as the van der valk gilze-tilburg. savoury and extensive breakfast for the start of the day with tap fresh orange juice and food and drinks, as example. an ideal hotel, my first choice in tilburg.

The standard rooms are quite old compared to the rest of the building. Clean and quiet but nothing else.

Main building appealing, rooms shown on website inviting, but actual room disappointing and you had to drive to your room, not comfortable when traveling alone. Nice lady in the dining area

Couple's getaway with some quirks

The indoor pool was a hidden gem and we had it all to ourselves. The bar menu was extensive and the service was solid .

It wasn't exactly cheap , but given the comfort we experienced , I can't really complain.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. From the outside the hotel does not look that tempting, but this external does not reflect what is inside. We had a Deluxe room which was impecable: comfortable, clean, very modern design but stil cosey, large bathroom with full size bath and walk in shower. Swimming pool area very nice, and enough space that even on Easter weekend it was not crowded. The restaurant is very big so if you are looking for intimacy then this is perhaps not the place. That said, the tables are far apart and the food we had was very good. The lady serving in the bar was extremely friendly and helpful.

The exterior of the hotel is a bit ugly (but once your inside it's lovely!). Our room was quite a long walk from the restaurant/reception area - would not be ideal for less mobile people - but we were able to park our car right outside our room. The breakfast was fine, but the only hot food availbable had to be cooked by the guests on a hotplate. When the hotel is busy this one hotplate is not really enough.

Non smoking room seemed to have a slight odour of smoking, but was not serious.

Very comfortable, the room was large, the food excellent.

I have stayed here several times before and the one thing that really annoys me is the signage/arrows leading to the rooms - I always get lost.

Privacy

It would have been nice not to have been put into a room where it was obvious pets had stayed. I would suggest having a selection of rooms that are solely used for guests travelling with pets, as some guests may suffer from allergies to pets.

I had to stay there because it was close to my meeting the next day - I didn't like anything aboout it - an awful roadside motel with rude staff and paperthin walls. The staff provide 0 service - no one to help with luggage, no mini bar just a fridge at reception, no vanity kit in the room, awful sound insulation, the whole floor stank of cigarette smoke. Uncomfortable beds and bedding with a stink of chlorine. The question is why did your site give this "hole" 4 out of 5 circles? That is misinformation!

No tea/coffee making facility in room. Very poor bathroom layout and somewhat in need of a re-furbishment
